Plastic Sushi, Strawberries and Time with Edward Beuchert on WMFO in Medford 91.5 FM

Welcome to the archives of the Plastic Sushi, Strawberries and Time radio show, a two hour sound collage that currently shares the Friday 8 pm to 10 pm timeslot on WMFO 91.5 FM in Medford, Massachusetts with Tears of the Gods and the utterly crazy mashup Plastic Strawberries of the Gods. All three radio shows are hosted by Edward Beuchert. Every edition of Plastic Sushi, Strawberries and Time invariably starts off with Japanese music then we mix it up with jazz, surf, punk, funk, electronic, bluegrass, metal, lounge, country, classical even disco -- as many different styles as we can find that match the theme du jour, PLUS audio clips from who knows where...

Here are some of the best shows:

To commemorate the Eve of the 66th Anniversary of the Atomic Bombing of Hiroshima we're Going Nuclear with Derek Gerry (co-host of WMFO's The Whole Truth every Wednesday from 7 to 9 pm). Aug. 5, 2011

Inspired by the excellent April 2010 special water issue of National Geographic Magazine, here's a theme called Water, Water Everywhere, But Not a Lot of It to Drink -- which was ironically followed just a few days later by a massive water disruption throughout the greater Boston area that left two million people without clean water from their faucets... The break commentary also includes a discussion of MIT Prof. Sherry Turkle's April 26, 2010 Snyder Presidential Lecture at Tufts on Cyberintimacies and Cybersolitudes. Apr. 27, 2010

Here's perhaps my best experiment live mixing in WMFO's Studio A yet as I filled in for Dean Wallace with Out of Orbit [No U-Turn Radio Mix], which starts with music from electronics artists The Orb and Orbital interspersed with songs from the new Jimi Hendrix album Valleys of Neptune, then layers on top excerpts from a talk by Arundhati Roy, Noam Chomsky and Amy Goodman (recorded at MIT by Chuck U Rosina), plus other thoughts from Derek Gerry, Brian Joyce, Hank Faunce et al.
